It sits south of Salt Lake City and South Salt Lake and north of Murray and Holladay, covering about 12.8 square miles including Canyon Rim, East Mill Creek and Mount Olympus. About 63,000 people live here (2020 Census).

Granite School District. Skyline High School is at the mouth of Millcreek Canyon, and Olympus High serves part of the city, so confirm by address.
Millcreek Canyon is right at the east edge of the city, and the new Millcreek Common city center at Highland Drive and 3300 South has become its downtown.
The city approved a six-story mixed-use project with its first hotel and condos next to City Hall, and more condos near Millcreek Common.
